The Best Day

Well, first of all, I wore a dress so I think I set this day up for success purely off that.

I truly love wearing dresses. I think they're so free and flowy and far superior than jean shorts that ride up all day long. Don't get me wrong, jean shorts are like the cutest ever, but like so not the comfiest ever. Especially in the heat of summer dang did a flowy dress feel GOOD.

My fam and I headed into the "big city" today as my car needed to get serviced #BigGirlStuff. So we sat in the car fix it place for a little bit so Dad could work on his classes (college professors man, always working) and I started to work on my blog, but it actually is taking me a lot longer to put that post together than I thought, and it's already 11:19pm so that blog post has now turned into tomorrows blog post. But I'm okay with that because now I get to sit and relive my super fun day :)

One of the first places we stopped in was a bookstore downtown and I picked up this book called The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris off the shelf just to read the back and see what it was about, and as we were leaving, Brenda (my bonus mom aka step mom) had bought it for me!

Next stop was another cool little shop, lunch, and then into a cute boutique where I looked around and found nothing, was about ready to leave, and then I saw all these jeans in the clearance and I SCORED let me tell ya. These jeans were originally $118 and I got them for $47!!! I spent like 20 minutes in the dressing room trying on three pairs of jeans because I just couldn't decide if it was worth the money or not. It's like an internal war every time I try on clothes.

"Do these make my butt look weird?"

"Do these hit at an awkward length?"

"I think these make my legs look kind of stumpy."

"And I'm supposed to be saving money right now."

"But you actually have jeans written down on a list of things you need."

(Side note: new jeans are definitely not a need, but I've had the same ones since like sophomore year of high school, so I'm allowing myself to buy new ones)

"They're on sale though."

"$47 is like basically $50 which is half of $100, so no they're too expensive."

"Okay but they were $118."

"Okay you right and Dad and Brenda have been waiting for ages, let's go."

That is no joke what went down in my head. And now I am so happy that I bought them which is rare because I always get buyers remorse lol.

And from that same cute little store, Brenda also bought me that pumpkin vanilla candle and it smells like all the best parts of fall *heart eye and drool emoji*...can I insert emojis in this??? 😍OHHHHHH MY GOOOOOOODNESSSS LOOOK I literally just figured that out right now holy cow I type these on my computer so I didn't know if it would work would you look at that!!! 😍🤤

And after that store we went to this ice cream/cookie place, so basically Heaven on Earth. After another internal war about which flavor I should pick, I ended up with some edible cookie dough and brownie batter 😍 The most exciting part is that I still have half of it left in the fridge waiting for me tomorrow.

And then we went to Target where I intentionally left my wallet in the car so I wouldn't buy anything. Haha well wrong!! I found this cute midi dress that has a little slit on the side (it's the taupe/gray little v neck in the pic with book and jeans - very poor representation of it), so suuuuper cute and like I said, dresses frickin rule, so long story short, I'll pay dad back for it later.

And then we had Blaze Pizza for dinner and grabbed a coffee from Starbucks for the drive home. And I had McDonald's for breakfast. If you've been paying any attention, I consumed like 3,000 calories today which is honestly impressive. Some days I feel guilty about eating those two extra Oreos and then I can't stop staring at how large my thighs look in the mirror. But today, I ate all those calories and looked at myself in the mirror and all I saw was the smile on my face from how amazing this day was.

And now it is 11:56 pm, so this post needs to go up before tomorrow hits and I lose my perfect streak of posting every day in July!!!

Good night, friends

Just one happy and a little bit more squishy than normal Julia :)
